Travis and Marie Williams
Teen Ministries
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. My name is Travis Williams, and alongside my wife, Marie, we have the privilege of teaching the teens here at Central Boulevard Church of God.Although Marie has attended Central for most of her life, she officially became a member in 2021. I joined as a member in 2023—but our spiritual journey together began long before that.
In 2018, our faith was tested when Marie was diagnosed with breast cancer. What could have been a season of fear became the beginning of a transformation. Marie faced her diagnosis with a “no worries, only blessings” mindset, and I watched in awe as her faith deepened and radiated through her. It changed her from the inside out.
While she underwent treatment, a community of believers—many we didn’t even know—stood in prayer with us, including members of Central and especially Marie’s mother. In late 2018, after a long journey, Marie received a cancer-free diagnosis, and we knew it was God’s hand at work. That same year, we accepted an invitation to attend Sunday school at Central. That morning changed everything.
The warm welcome we received and the Spirit-filled atmosphere were unforgettable. That day, Marie stood before the church to testify of God’s faithfulness—and our lives were never the same. We realized life wasn’t meant to be lived for convenience or comfort, but for the glory of the One who gives us life.
Soon after, Marie began substitute teaching Sunday school in a senior class and at a local retirement home—something she never expected but felt God calling her to do. I began helping with the church’s media team. We were both stepping into new roles led by the Holy Spirit.
In 2023, I was baptized along with our children and grandchildren, and we all became official members of Central Boulevard Church of God. Life felt stable and full. But God wasn’t done.
Leadership changes in the church stirred things up. Some stayed, some left, but through it all, we could see God’s hand moving. We learned that faith can’t grow in comfort. Growth comes when God interrupts our plans with His purpose.
That’s how we found ourselves called to serve the teen ministry. What began as a whirlwind of change turned into one of the greatest blessings of our lives. We never expected to teach teenagers, but now we couldn’t imagine anything more meaningful. These teens are on fire for God, and we’re honored to walk alongside them as they grow in faith, purpose, and identity in Christ.
